As summer sets in, I fight against myself and my tendency to dwell on the worst of a situation. Normally, summer would signal to me a long stretch where I don’t have anything specific to do. Not having a purpose, not having plans day usually sends me in to sadness. This summer I am setting forth with a plan of productivity. There are so many thing I can work on. I have realized that one of the best things I can work on over summer break is my writing. It has always been a dream of mine to be a writer and after taking a class earlier this year there is no better opportunity.
In Zephaniah 3:16-17, the Lord tells us:
“Do not fear, Zion,
do not be discouraged!
The LORD,your God, is in your midst,
a mighty savior,
Who will rejoice over you with gladness,
and renew you in his love,”
I start this summer with joy in my heart knowing that if God is in life I need not be discouraged for there are many opportunities in store.
